About
About Nicholas Gonzalez and the purpose of RamboSec.
RamboSec is my cybersecurity portfolio and research site. It serves as a place to document certifications, technical writing, projects, and continued learning across different areas of cybersecurity.
My name is Nicholas Gonzalez, and I work in cybersecurity with experience spanning threat hunting, security investigations, eDiscovery, and digital forensics. My background includes roles involving enterprise security operations, investigations, alert review, technical reporting, and forensic analysis.
This site was built to present that work in a structured way while also making room for continued growth. It includes certifications, technical writeups, and projects that reflect both professional experience and personal interest. Some posts are directly related to skills I use professionally, while others come from labs, self study, homelab work, CTFs, or general exploration across cybersecurity.
The goal is not to narrow the site to one specialty. While digital forensics and investigations are an important part of my background, my interests are broader than that. RamboSec is meant to be a place where I can document learning across the field, whether that involves defensive security, security operations, OSINT, labs, certifications, tools, or other technical topics worth understanding and sharing.
I also wanted this site to serve as a practical reference point. In this field, people often ask about a certification, a project, a tool, or something you mentioned in conversation. Having a clear place to point them to is useful. It gives me a way to share a distillation of my experience and knowledge in a form that is easy for friends, colleagues, recruiters, and others in the industry to review.
I built this site to be useful to both employers and other practitioners. For employers, it offers a direct way to review my background, certifications, and body of work. For others in the field, it is a place where I can document what I am learning, working on, and improving over time while also sharing work that others may find useful or worth referencing.
